CENTRALVET, s.r.o., Veterinary Clinic, represented by MVDr. Diana Halászová, Company ID No. 01964984 (hereinafter referred to as the “Provider”), hereby provides the following information to its clients – natural persons who are data subjects within the meaning of Article 4(1) of the GDPR and whose personal data are protected under the GDPR – in accordance with Articles 12 and 13 of the GDPR.

2. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF DATA PROCESSING
At our veterinary clinic, clients’ personal data are processed in the following situations:
We process personal data in order to fulfil the contract for the provision of veterinary services. To communicate effectively with clients during the provision of veterinary care and to inform them about, for example, their pet’s condition or test results, we generally require the client’s telephone number and e-mail address.
Once veterinary care has been provided, the pet owner becomes our client and records relating to the veterinary treatment are retained in our files. These records are essential to ensure appropriate veterinary care for the animal in the future.
Certain personal data must also be processed to comply with our legal obligations. As we are legally required to maintain veterinary medical records, including identification of the treated animal’s owner, we process the client’s name, surname and residential address. Where required by law, we also process and submit the personal data contained in a pet passport to the Chamber of Veterinary Surgeons of the Czech Republic. In addition, we process personal data necessary for issuing invoices, maintaining accounting records and fulfilling our tax obligations.
Processing may also be necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests. We may use the contact details of our regular clients to send information about our veterinary services and products. We also process personal data where necessary to establish, exercise or defend our legal claims.
Where the client has given consent, additional personal data may also be processed. Such consent is always informed, specific as to the purpose, scope and duration of processing, and may be withdrawn by the client at any time.
We process personal data only to the extent provided by the client. Clients are free to refuse to provide personal data; however, where certain data are required by law or are necessary for the provision of veterinary services, we may be unable to provide the requested service without them.
3. CONSENT TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
Where the veterinary clinic processes personal data on the basis of the client’s consent, the Provider may require the client to confirm such consent in writing.
The client may withdraw their consent at any time, in any form and without penalty. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the Provider’s right to continue processing personal data where another lawful basis for processing applies.
Consent to the processing of personal data is not required for the provision of veterinary services, and the Provider does not make the provision of veterinary care conditional upon the client’s consent.
4. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
Clients who repeatedly use the Provider’s veterinary services are considered regular clients unless they expressly state otherwise.
The Provider may process personal data obtained in connection with the provision of veterinary services for the purpose of direct marketing of its own services and products (for example, vaccination reminders).
Clients have the right to object at any time to the processing of their personal data for direct marketing purposes and may easily opt out of receiving further marketing communications.
5. RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA
The Provider retains clients’ personal data only for as long as necessary and only to the extent required to fulfil the relevant purpose of processing. This includes the duration of the contractual relationship between the Provider and the client and any additional period during which the Provider is legally required to retain such data under applicable legislation.
The Provider may also retain personal data where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims arising from the contractual relationship with the client until the applicable statutory limitation period has expired.
6. DATA PROCESSORS AND RECIPIENTS
Clients’ personal data may be disclosed to third parties providing professional veterinary, accounting, legal or IT services to the Provider where necessary to ensure compliance with legal obligations or to establish, exercise or defend the Provider’s legal rights.
Before personal data are transferred to any third party, the Provider concludes a written data processing agreement containing appropriate safeguards for the protection of personal data.
Personal data may also be disclosed to public authorities or other entities where required by applicable law or where they have a legal entitlement to access such information.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- request access to your personal data;
- request the correction or deletion of your personal data;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to the processing of your personal data;
- exercise your right to data portability in accordance with Articles 15–21 of the GDPR;
- be informed without undue delay of any personal data breach likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms;
- lodge a complaint with the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (or another competent supervisory authority) if you believe that your personal data are being processed unlawfully.
The Provider will respond to requests concerning the exercise of your rights under Articles 15–22 of the GDPR without undue delay and, in any event, within one month of receiving the request.
The Provider does not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Article 22(1) and (4) of the GDPR.
Information on the Processing of Personal Data Through Cookies

- contact the Data Controller or lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority if you have concerns regarding the processing of your personal data.
